- Description:
- You are invited to participate in a research study examining the development of attention, learning and memory processes. Researchers at the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota are interested in how attention and learning abilities develop across childhood and into adulthood. In this study you will be asked to perform computer tasks involving pictures of everyday objects, shapes, abstract symbols, letters, numbers, or cartoon characters. You will be asked to look at different pictures on a screen and to press buttons in response. In addition to the computer testing, we will ask you to complete an assessment of your vocabulary, and a set of questionnaires regarding your emotional and behavioral development. Individuals must first complete an eligibility screening and then schedule an in-person visit to our lab located in Campbell Hall. This study will take up to two hours to complete. Most research visits are scheduled sometime between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, however, there can be some morning, evening, and weekend flexibility, if needed. Participation in this study is dependent on meeting specific selection criteria. You must be between 18-25 years old, fluent in English, have normal or corrected-to-normal vision, hearing, and hand motor function. Additional selection criteria include no diagnosed learning disabilities, neurological insults or disorders, or neurodevelopmental disorders including ADHD. Use the link (https://redcap.link/4wxe3rzx) to complete an eligibility screening or reach out to attentionstudy@umn.edu if you’re interested in participating or have questions. Thank you!
