- Researcher:
- Eugene Borgida
- Term:
- Fall 2025
- Description:
- This study takes place entirely online and is completed by participants on their own time. In total, Pre-test #2 is expected to take 10-15 minutes to complete. Participants will be asked to complete a series of online surveys via Qualtrics upon signing up for the study through the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Psychology Research Experience Program (REP). Participants will first review and sign a consent form. They will also be asked to confirm that they are a citizen of the United States who is over 18 years old. During Pre-test #2, participants will be asked to answer a series of survey items and comprehension scales administered via a Qualtrics survey. Pre-test #2 is the second of three tests administered in this study. For this study, there are three parts in total, each using a different sample of participants: Pre-test #1, Pre-test #2, and Study 1. Pre-test #2 is expected to collect responses from 110 participants in total. The purpose of Pre-test #2 is to evaluate the internal consistency of the presented scale items, as well as to measure the time taken to complete each scale. We are asking participants to take part in this research study because they are an 18-21 year old U.S. citizen who is enrolled in the University of Minnesota’s Psychology Research Experience Program (REP). If participants agree to take part in this research study, we will pay them using the University of Minnesota’s REP points system: 1 REP point for Pre-test #2. There are no potential benefits or foreseeable risks to participants from taking part in this research.
